Mike Wehr

I study the neural coding of sound by the auditory cortex, and the local circuits responsible for performing computations with these codes. I am currently involved in three projects:

1. Linearity of responses of auditory cortical neurons to natural sounds.

2. Synaptic mechanisms for sound frequency and tuning in auditory cortical neurons.

3. Does synaptic depression at the thalamocortical synapse account for auditory adaptation?
